LET'S BE INTERACTIVE!

This blog is a creative outlet for me, and anything goes. I think it would be fun to make it interactive. One of the easiest ways would be to send me an e-mail if you don't want to write a comment.

You can share your favorite recipes, tell your funny food stories, write about your kitchen disasters, even ask questions about food and nutrition that I'll do my best to answer.

Would you like a weekly "reminder notice" sent to you each week? Just send me an e-mail, and I'll add you to the list.

Start now and join the fun! E-mail me at cyndyskitchen@cfl.rr.com.

Now, let's get to this week's recipe.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." Harriet Van Horne.

MISCELLANEOUS TIDBIT OF THE WEEK: Marinate - To combine food with aromatic ingredients to add flavor.

THIS IS KISS YOUR MATE DAY!

You'll get lots of kisses...and hugs...when you serve your honey this tasty steak. Add baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and garlic bread to complete the meal.

GRILLED STEAK

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 pound boneless sirloin steak
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon chopped garlic

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut steak into four to six serving pieces.
2. In a measuring cup, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame seeds, and garlic. Stir until sugar is blended.
3. In one layer, arrange steak in an oblong pan. Pour soy sauce mixture over steak. Turn steak to coat other side.
4. Marinate at least two hours, turning steak over every 30 minutes. You may also pierce the steak with a fork to further enhance the marinade flavor.
5. Grill steak to desired rareness.

YIELD: 4 to 6 servings

NOTE: Caraway seeds may be substituted for sesame seeds to make an unusual flavor.

Thank you for visiting From Cyndy's Kitchen...I hope to see you again!
